1997: lower alcohol level, grapes and stems were all kept, more rustic wine.
1998/1999/2000: followed the same way of winemaking than 1997. The wines kept their rustic characteristic.
2001: Alain Pascal took the decision to take off some stems, the winter was cold and the fermentation stopped to start again from December to March.
This new way to not keeping all the stems marked a significant change for the Gros’ Noré wines.
2002: the light was lighter due to heavy rains during the harvest. Alain Pascal found that a lighter wine can be appreciated as much his previous vintages. Started to re-think his view on what makes a good Bandol.
2003: the weather was very dry but still enough water was present in the soil, reintrodution of very tiny parts of stems attached to the bays. Very complex wine.
2004: The weather was also hot and more dry. Very velvety wine but heavier in alcohol. From this year no more yeast added.
2005: The temperatures were also really hot but because of the pas two hot years more grapes were left. No yeast added and no stems kept.
2006: the fermentation stopped as observed in 2001, but didn’t start again, a little bit of 2007 was added to start again the fermentation. The wine was sweeter.
2007: very nice weather, Alain Pascal way of winemaking became clearer. Started to work with a new oenologue.
2008: More rain through the year, the wine was a bit lighter. Started to blend Cuvée Antoinette(the name of his mother), almost 100% Mourvèdre as 95% being the limit for Bandol appelation.
2009: full body due to a very hot weather.
2010: Irony earthiness and full tannins. Long finish.
2011: full bodied, considerable structure and beautifully on the fruit.
2012: Firm, structured, tannic mouth.
2013: very well structured, full bodied, was elected best vin de garde (wine to keep ageing) in Bandol.
2014: No stems kept, very full bodied and powerful, good balance between the acidity and the fruits.
2015: best wether ever seen, incredibly regular. Very good year for rosé.
2016: Well structured and balanced. Very flowery rosé, a lot of perfumes, strawberry notes.

Thanks to Pascale Parodi, Gros’ Noré import manager for her visit and these comments and informations.
